Carette – The Secret Parisian Tea Room

30.09.2014 Posted in Red Lifestyle No Comments

One of the most prettiest, elegant and tastiest tea rooms in Paris is a well-kept secret. Situated right near the Trocadéro, it is unknown to the general public compared to more famous Ladurée and Angelina and is rarely mentioned in the guide books. Nonetheless, its terrace and tea room are fully packed every day. It not unusual there to encounter known actors and politicians. Welcome to Carette: the kingdom of style, grace and excellent simple food! Opened in 1927 by Jean Carette, the place has remained in vogue for over 80 years. On the menu – excellent Red scrambled eggs with tomatoes (also mushrooms, ham and cheese) (around 15€), club sandwiches and salads (20-25€) and, last but not least, pastries-including the famous Carette strawberry and raspberry cakes (9.50€). The menu is on the pricey side but everything is incredibly delicious, the ambiance is chic and the service is excellent. So if you visit Trocadéro, stop by here to enjoy the scene. Note: Open 7 days a week 7.30-23.30, 4 place du Trocadéro, 75016 – Paris, Metro Trocadéro, line 6 & 9 exit: Avenue Raymond Poincaré. Note that there is another Carette Tea Room, situated at 25 Place des Vosges, 75003 – Paris, Metro Saint Paul, line 1.
